On August 16th 1999 the first location of Knotz Delft was opened.
The search for professional, trustworthy and also personal day care for my children led to the decision of opening a day-care centre myself.
Highly educated staff, a well thought-out educational policy, extensive opening hours and a choice of childcare hours formed the foundation of my ideas.
A group of primary school children from Delft thought of the name Knotz: they wanted a tough name, which didn’t have any association with a nursery. They also chose our logo, an elephant: big and tough, but also very social and especially very Knotz.
The team of Knotz Childcare are all professionally trained childcare workers. Our colleagues are passionate about their work and love working with children, which is seen and felt in their daily commitment.
Our organisation invests a lot of time and attention in training our employees. Everyone is provided with an education according to an established educational programme. This facilitates the motivation and growth which Knotz pursuits daily.
On Knotz locations you will find educational staff, location managers, deputy location managers, group support, facility employees and a workshop employee. Because of this, the educational staff can focus fully on the children.
Safety and hygiene
When parents trust others with the care of their children, safety and hygiene are of the utmost importance. All the locations of Knotz meet all the legal requirements of the fire department and the GGD (Dutch Community Health Services).
All the members of our staff are carefully selected and well educated. All the materials and rooms that are used are safe and clean. Our staff know exactly how to handle the situation when a child falls ill or has an accident. Every year there is an elaborate risk inventory, which is checked by the GGD.
